Day seven. Somewhere between Dingboche and Lobuche, around 5,000 meters, my lungs started bargaining with my legs. Every step felt like breathing through a coffee straw. But then I looked up. The Himalayas don't care about your fitness level or your gear list. They just stand there — impossibly tall, impossibly blue, impossibly silent — and dare you to keep walking. So you do. The sky at this altitude is a different color. Not the pale blue you know from sea level — this is deep, almost violet, like the atmosphere is thinning enough for you to peek into space. No filter could capture it. No photo does it justice. But I tried anyway. This trek broke me and rebuilt me in eight days. If you're considering EBC, stop considering and start training. Your calves will hate you. Your soul will thank you. 📍 Everest Base Camp Trek, Nepal ⛰️ 5,363m 🥾 Challenging — altitude is the real boss 💡 Hire a local guide.
